What is new in the TWSI world is new legislation as part of the AODA standard. Effective January 1, 2016, TWSI’s are now mandatory on all new and repaired depressed curb sidewalks in Ontario. Click HERE for full details.
Landmark by Crozier’s TWSI Division is the proud supplier of Neenah Foundry’s leading cast iron DWP’s, which exceed the new standard. As our TWSI Division continues to grow at a rapid rate, a decision was made to implement an expert in TWSI’s (and other Neenah Foundry products), to act as an additional source of knowledge and support to clients.
Brian Bekkers is Neenah Foundry’s new Canadian Sales Development Consultant. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because Brian served in both a sales and management capacity with Landmark for several years. According to Crozier Enterprises President Ken Crozier, it was a seamless transition.
“Because of the growth in our TWSI business, Crozier Enterprises and Neenah Foundry collectively wanted to transition Brian into a specific Neenah role,” said Ken, adding, “While his full scope is across Canada, his main attention will be the Ontario market; helping to support and grow our existing clientele and develop new connections.”
Brian further explains his role below:
“Personally I am extremely fortunate to have been associated with the two companies active in Canada, which combined have provided the most knowledge to specifiers and government agencies to see that installations, in Ontario are according to the AODA requirements for this product, and areas without specific legislation, according to the ADA.
With Crozier Enterprises, I had the opportunity to work with many key municipalities, as well with the MTO Specification writers to first establish the MTO Standard which went into effect for all Ontario Government properties effective Jan. 1/15., the same basic specification which has now been translated into the Ontario Standard, which has come into effect for all public and private properties effective Jan. 1/16.
This association also afforded me the role to make contacts with key people who have been instrumental in the development of the AODA, from backgrounds like CNIB, ISO, and CSA members who have patiently, helped me understand and assist in bringing this message to our market.
When the opportunity came about to leave Landmark by Crozier and join Neenah Foundry as their representative for the Canadian market, I seized the challenge to help bring the confidence in the level of information to municipalities that there is a long-term, cost effective solution to meet their AODA compliance. I also plan to continue showing contractors how Neenah offers the widest range of product options, with generally the least number of pieces required, easiest installations.”
